It started with a peaceful morning. More than the scenic pleasure, it was good to see the security guards sleeping. They too are humans!
Waiting for the bus is a pain in the neck. At 5 am, it is pain in the butt. But I was patient enough to board the bus after waiting for 36 minutes. A look at the college gate from this viewpoint is at times refreshing.
Travelling in a bus to Kalyani( Kul-llani), I realise that I will be missing the first train to Shantipur( santipoor) after sunrise. Sitting on bench on the platform I planned the next part of my travel. I boarded a train to Ranaghat Junction. On reaching Ranaghat, the height of joblessness increased. I opened a packet of biscuits and started to listen to music. I had to wait for another half hour before boarding a train to Shantipur.
Thank God(if you believe in one) , the train to Shantipur wasn't crowdy. First time in my life at West Bengal I saw a not-so-crowdy train. Shantipur was a different experience. Traversing 4 kilometres for 30 bucks in a cycle-rickshaw, definitely a different experience. We don't have cycle rickshaws in Bangalore. We din't have them too( My father used to say).
And then comes the Jaleshwar Temple( Joleshwor mondir). Seeing Shiva after a long time made me happy. I decided to go to this place after reading about it's history. It is a very old temple with an unique architectural blend. It stands out from the group of generic Kali temples i have been visiting since my stay at West Bengal.
